THE ULTIMATE RIDER'S NEWS

THE KERIS CUP 2025 - SURF. SKATE. STYLE. ULUWATU

Hosted at the iconic Uluwatu Surf Villas, the Keris Cup 2025 went down on October 15th, blending surf, skate, and island culture into one epic invitational. With a backdrop of cliffs, waves, and tropical beats, this event captured what Bali’s surf lifestyle is all about — creativity, connection, and pure flow.

SURF + SKATE FORMAT & HIGHLIGHTS

Unlike traditional surf contests, the Keris Cup invited elite riders to submit their best surf clips from Indonesia during the contest window. These clips were judged, and the event wrapped up with a sunset skate jam at Uluwatu’s bowl—designed by one of our own riders (and competitor), Finn Murphy.

The winner? The rider who could dominate both in the water and on the deck.

The atmosphere was insane: local legends, pros, photographers, and fans filled the clifftops as the day unfolded. Uluwatu’s left-handers offered glassy sections and pockets for big turns and smooth lines. Then the skate component raised the stakes — combining two disciplines in one battle.

CHAMPIONS & STANDOUT MOMENTS

The big win went to Shane Borland, who claimed the crown as the world’s premier surf/skate crossbreed at Keris Cup.  He nailed air moves, strong lines, and versatility across surf and skate to take the top spot. In fact, the skate jam’s energy and his consistency sealed it.

Sky Brown, who faced adversity — she dislocated her shoulder before the competition started, yet pushed through. She later sprinted back into competition mode, paddled out, and rode through. Then, in the skate jam, she claimed the Jay Adams Award for charging hardest despite injury. That resilience encapsulates what this event is all about.

SURF MEETS SKATE AT ULUWATU

Once the surf sessions wrapped, the vibe shifted to the Uluwatu Surf Villas skate bowl, where riders kept the energy rolling. The sunset sessions were packed with style, music, and that familiar Bali edge — raw, free, and full of stoke.

With surf, skate, and soul all in one place, the Keris Cup 2025 reminded everyone why Uluwatu remains one of the most inspiring surf communities on the planet—massive respect to Uluwatu Surf Villas for hosting and preserving the roots of Bali surf culture.
